City of Tea Tree Gully – Respite Carer Support Program.

Specific interest & general carer support groups, offering opportunities for mutual support, information sharing & social activities & carer education. For carers of people who are ageing or younger people with a disability.

 

Northern Carers Network Inc.

Organises social gatherings bi-monthly & offers individual counselling. Home visits can be arranged plus respite & transport for carers wishing to attend support group meetings or any Network activity.

Meetings held every 5 – 6 weeks for parents with a disability to exchange ideas on parenting, support each other, organise fun activities for parents & children and raise community awareness of the issues facing parents with a disability.

Offers community based and centre activities to residents of TTG Council who are frail and aged, have Dementia, an intellectual disability or an Acquired Brain Injury.

Offers a full range of temporary, permanent or emergency specialist home help services including para-nursing care, sitters, attendant care, respite care and meal preparation for people with a disability or people who are frail aged. Fee for service.

 

Elizabeth Bowey Lodge Inc.

Referral through Northern and North-Eastern IDSC Options Coordination Agencies. Assessment required for service.

Planned short-term overnight and daytime respite for children and young adults with intellectual disability, 7 – 35 yrs, not requiring high security or continuous one-to-one supervision/care.

 

Interchange Inc.

A family with a child who has an intellectual disability is matched with a host family who regularly cares for that child for a maximum of 48 hrs a month.

Also offers a three and a half day camp for teenagers (Great Break) and Teen Companion Programme.

 

North and West Metropolitan Adelaide Carer Respite Centre

Provides advice to carers on how to plan, access and arrange their respite needs, short term and emergency respite.
